Went to an Orthodontist recently in Seattle, she recommended "Comprehensive" Invisalign treatment for approx. 20 months (might be less depending on how my teeth respond). Below is break-down of costs:
Covered by insurance (Delta Dental): $2000
Out of pocket: $6390
Total: $8390
Won't lie, I was a bit taken aback looking at the out-of-pocket expenses. I was expecting it to be around $3500-4000 based on what I had read on internet, but its way higher than that. I also asked her what if my teeth respond well, I skip certain aligners, and finish the treatment in less than 20 months? She said that the cost will remain the same irrespective of the no. of aligners/total time it takes, as its for the no. of Doctor hours and not for the aligners/retainers themselves.
Wanted to understand from other fellow Invisalign users here, is this cost normal? Should I expect the same from other Orthodontists as well? What did it cost you?
Would highly appreciate any inputs :)
Update: Thanks for your inputs everyone! Based on everyone's comments here I can say this quote was on the very high end, and I can likely get lower cost options. I've decided to do a more thorough search and try out other Orthos in and around the city. Appreciate the feedback :)
