First of all, so happy to learn this subreddit exists! I've had a gap and other misalignments/overbite basically forever, but got super-sensitive over it in the age of video calls. With a new job, I decided now was the time to take the plunge. I have a few questions for people's input.

1. I'm doing this through my general dentist vs. an ortho. It didn't occur to me that seeking out an ortho is seen as a better decision(though I see why it makes sense). I just figured having a medical professional to check in with would be better than doing something like Smile Direct Club. I trust my dentist, is this really going to hurt me? They are a Silver provider on the Invisalign site.
2. Anything I should know doing this for the first time? I otherwise have a pretty healthy dental record, they just look bad.
3. How do you deal with the financial anxiety? I've budgeted well for this, I'm just the type of person that hates spending large amounts of money.
