Hi all! So I've gotten two orthodontic consultations for adult Invisalign. They both mentioned I have a crossbite to be fixed and would benefit from an upper jaw expansion (apart from the regular teeth rotations and adjustment)
Ortho 1 recommended straight up Invisalign along with rubber bands and said it would take about 12 months.
Ortho 2 actually recommended braces, either for the full duration, or at least for the first 6 months, followed by Invisalign for the rest of the 18 to 24 months. He said it would be a more predictable movement, according to him.
Both cost approx the same $5k and both are highly rated on Yelp/Zocdoc!
Anyone been in the same boat, to help make this decision? I'm wondering if there's an obvious choice here, or if Ortho 2 is simply more experienced with braces and is hence recommending it, while we should be able to achieve the same results with just Invisalign.
TIA!
PS: I've had braces some 15 odd years ago, but my teeth / jaw have moved since. I am currently in San Francisco.
