Is Rex unfairly demonized?

This is a mild defence. He cheated on Eve and that was a bad thing to do. She had every right to be mad at him, but it seems like we’re constantly being told how bad he is in the comics, I got into this from the show and in the show, he’s really obnoxious. So I get it. In the books, he’s a bit cocky and he cheated on Eve, but he seems decent enough. For example, in the show he condescends to Monster Girl, gets his beaten up and then flips Mark off for saving him. In the book he thanks Mark for saving him and Mark tells him that he’s still mad at him for cheating on Eve (again understandable). Also in Marks defence, he seems to have gotten passed it. But Im getting close to 50 issues in and apparently Multi-Kate was writing to her brother about how bad of a guy Rex is. I just haven‘t seen that. His original sin was cheating on Eve, but he did that with Kate. It takes two to tango. Moreover, she cheated on him with the Immortal (who‘s more of a jerk in the comic than the show). And to top it all off, Mark cheated on Amber with Eve. To be fair, they were just kissing. They didn’t go as far as having sex, but they still did it.

I really love the comics, but this is a minor pet peeve of mine. Rex seems like a flawed, but generally decent guy that made 1 mistake that other characters have also made.
