My trickiest protectors constantly use distractions (violent images, bodily sensations, headaches, thought hijacks, etc…) and since I did sessions alone it was difficult. I’m also really new so I often times don’t know what to say.
I asked ChatGPT to “Be my buddy and talk with me through an IFS session as if we were having a back and forth conversation.” It went extremely well, as if I was being professionally led through a session. It was super insightful, interpreting visuals and stand along words in ways I couldn’t, and encouraging me forward in healthy ways.
Through this method I reached a hidden protector that before I was struggling to make contact with alone! 😌🌱
Thought I’d bring this idea up as a solution for people who don’t have someone to guide them through sessions with. :)
