This (http://imgur.com/a/83CZY#fAbCwDb) is the bottom of 3 vertical shelves on the side of my kitchen cabinets, and I've used the top two for books (added the metal to prevent them falling off) and the bottom one is part decorations, part storage for things in my hands when I come in the door (sunglasses, etc). It is very narrow and all of the storage shelves I've found at places like Container Store are much too large. It seems like such a waste of space, I'd really like to figure out a way to make it more useful. I've included pictures of the rest of the entry/kitchen to gain some context for the space. The countertop often ends up cluttered with things as well. As you can see, our place is pretty small so I want to make the most of every space!
The shelf is 10.5 inches tall and 5.5 inches deep.
Any input is appreciated!
