I am looking for an interior designer to help me make decisions about how to use the oddly shaped apartment I have. However, I am not rolling in money, and would rather spend money on a good designer and find pieces that fit their vision used over time rather than just buying new things. I also am trying to buy less things new in an effort to avoid waste and help the planet.
The point is I would love to talk with an interior designer and mock up some potential layouts with potential furniture but I am not ready to commit to buying specific pieces. Things like "You can put the piano here at this angle and probably 3 couches there" or "if you put a divider or large shelf here it would really help device the space" then that would be incredibly useful.
I would be fine with recommendations of furniture to at least put realistic dimensions to things but at the end of the day I am looking to find pieces that fit that vision used.
But most of what I have heard about hired interior designers they end up helping you buy specific furniture. And this is not the help I want.
