Don't get me wrong, I like the product, I've also developed serious apps using Android Studio. It had a bunch of quirks though, and it was hindering my productivity. One issue was forgetting to stop at breakpoints, sometimes I would have to restart everything. I never found a root cause but it could be related to enabling breaking on exceptions.
I switched to VS Code JAVA extension, this is a huge SB project and I feel my productivity increased. Debugging experience is great and it seems the info is presented clearer. I work a lot on JS/TS, Python, C , and .net in the project and I prefer it.
I think though intellij may be a tad bit faster in hitting breakpoints, but very competitive.
