Made a post about this car the other day asking for advice on what to look out for, and here’s the first steps towards getting it back on the road! We took the day to clean out all the shit underneath it so we could lower it down (it’s been on a lift for the last 5 years), then we replaced the battery, emptied the old gas out, got some new 93 Octane, as well as some new Mobil1 oil (please sponsor me Mobil1 your oil is way too fuckin expensive rn 😭), and it started right up!!! I checked with the owner (a family friend) and the time belt has been done, and even though it’s sat for awhile I checked it and it’s not cracked or worn from the looks of it, it’s been kept in a dry environment so hopefully it will be fine until I have time to really tear into this thing to make it perfect.
Of course it still needs work to be fully road worthy, namely the breaks that the owner never finished upgrading, but I’d like to replace the suspension control arms and bushings. I don’t necessarily need to replace the control arms but they’re a bit rusty and with the time I have on hand it would be easier for me to just buy some new ones rather than try to sand and then paint the originals. Although I’ll probably do that as well sometime this summer just for the sake of having an extra set, or to put on the car during the winter since I live in the rust belt.
Other than that it’s got a leaky AC unit, and a leaky power steering rack, but besides those two minor things and the aforementioned breaks and suspension items it’s ready to hit some back roads this summer! I can’t wait!!! I’ll be sure to post more updates as I work on the car!!! Hopefully it will be back on the road by next week! ❤️❤️❤️
Hell of a find!
