Anyone know about working for State Farm as an Account Representative? Or any insurance sales?

Hey everyone!

I (M21) recently quit my job in retail sales with an AT&T Corporate Retail Store. This year with base (21.50/hr) plus commission, I took home 63k. So my average checks were 1500 hourly and I did good in sales so I made around 2100 a month for our store. But commission was also taxed 40%.

I am looking to stay in sales, as its a good career choice and experience for someone like me who lives on their own, and goes to school pursuing my Bachelors in Business Admin. And these insurance positions seem like a good fit. I may be wrong

The two I've applied for, I've gotten interviews for. On Indeed and the agents' website, it lists 55k as starting and making up to 90k based on sales. I'm going to try to leverage my experience for the past two years and see if I can get 22.50/hr but we'll see.

The position I chose was an Account Representative, so more direct sales. Mainly because their agents "Office Support" start at 40k a year.

I have an interview for these two agents on Monday and Tuesday this coming week. And am hoping for the best.

Does anyone have an experience with State Farm sales or ANY insurance sales? Or should I be looking into a different area of sales?

Thanks!
