Dental Insurance Question

Post Body

Hi,

I’m not sure how insurance works so hopefully someone can give me some advice.

I went to a orthodontist consult for Braces back in June - Got X-rays, pictures taken so I can get a pre determination from my insurance company (GEHA). The dentist office is so behind that they haven’t submitted anything even though it’s been months! I’ve been having a pretty bad experience with this office and still not braces.

GEHA’s orthodontist coverage is about to change from 70% coverage to 30% on braces in 2023.

Should I wait it out or should I just visit another office?

Would it be bad if they both end up submitting pre determinations?
