So my wife was driving our 2016 Silverado 2500hd and was involved in a minor accident (she was at fault). Red light turned green, she accelerated and bumped into the back of the van in front of her. It dented our front bumper and just kinda chipped the paint of their rear bumper. They exchanged info and went on about their day. The other driver filed a claim with their insurance and our insurance company (GEICO) contacted us saying we have a new claim. We’ve never been involved in an accident or anything so we’re new to all this, feels slightly embarrassing being 27 and confused about insurance claims lmao. I’m just wondering if I should choose to use my coverage or not, we have a $500 deductible and $25k property damage limit. Is it wise to use our coverage?? I didn’t really plan on fixing our bumper since it’s really not that noticeable so I’m not sure what I should do. Any advice is appreciated and you can poke fun all you want lol
