Last June I was in a car accident where I rear ended a truck with a trailer attached. The woman said her elbows were sore but she was bending her arms and she was not bleeding or visibly damaged. When the other driver mentioned her elbows I said she should get it checked out. About 2 months later I received a letter saying there was a bodily injury claim filed against my policy. Today, 9 months after the accident, I received another letter saying the bodily injury claim has still not been settled. I have 2 questions:
Is it typical for injury claims to take this long to be resolved?
Does a bodily injury claim mean she was actually injured or could it be she just went to get checked out?
