Hi guys! I recently sold a vehicle to a friend of mine but both my friend and I are still registered co-owners on the tittle. Along with this car he has a another vehicle insured. So he’s an insured driver however I am not. He left town for a few days and I rear ended someone and totaled his car. I told the cop I wasn’t insured.

However since the vehicle is technically his he has 30 days of automatic coverage from when he purchased the car to insure it under his policy. It’s only been a week or since I sold it to him.

We have yet to file a claim but we’re wondering if the insurance will cover the vehicle since he recently purchased it, and hadn’t added it to his policy...and he wasn’t the one that crashed it...
