Rather an odd thing in my personal opinion but I can sort of see why too.
A special investigator is being sent to my home to investigate my claim(s) after my MacBook and headphones were stolen (I was mugged by some twat on a moped). The claim has been going on for like 3 months now, itās stupidly frustrating because Iād just like my stuff back yet the insurance company seems hellbent on not paying me, and now they want to interview me to āconfirm my detailsā and May ask for āadditional documentsā I suppose the annoying thing is that I paid for my laptop in cash (I just happen to save that way, folding notes into my piggybank) but apparently thatās too hard to believe. I have my invoice and till receipt but they donāt think itās legit enough, It doesnāt help that I bought it refurbished from my local computer shop rather than Apple directly š but it was Ā£500 cheaper! (Still a Ā£2500 laptop!). Now my insurance company are saying the business I bought it from doesnāt exist!
I suppose Iām just frustrated, because itās been going on for so long as not having my laptop has been a huge inconvenience. Any ideas of what to expect in this interview?
Btw I have never claimed on any sort of insurance before, please tell me if I need any legal advice, Im in the U.K.
due to my job it would be extremely stupid to claim falsely, I earn enough, and jeopardising my job is out of the question. I donāt understand why Iām being treated like a criminal.
EDIT: my headphones (Ā£330) claim despite being stolen at the same time was approved, I paid the excess, then they āheldā it due to the investigation. I think itās a bit stupid to approve one and not the other despite having the same circumstances.
