In 2019 I was involved in an at-fault accident. I had purchased GAP insurance. In 2021 after receiving calls from the finance company, I contacted the insurance company to figure out why they hadn't paid. They said they need a police report which I mailed them. After that other things like my failing marriage and money issues were forefront in my mind and I didn't think much of it. Now I am trying to refinance my house to pay off my ex-wife and come to find out they never did pay the claim. I have been in contact with them and sent the police report again. They have denied my claim. Prior to me contacting them in 2021 they had never contacted me, nor have they afterwards. At this point my I'm thinking I should contact an attorney. Any other ideas?
