My current insurance company will not renew us unless we remove my daughter 19f & list her as an excluded driver. In March of 2023 she was involved in an accident in which both hers & the other vehicle was totaled (full coverage) so we received a payout, this past January she sideswiped another car damaging both cars. Progressive quoted $4600 a year for liability only on a 2009 Honda Civic, what other insurance carriers are there that insure young drivers with accidents on their record. The area she is going to school in has public transportation & we are considering taking the car away & just keep it as a commuter for work since it gets better mpg than what I’m driving & putting money into savings for when she graduates to put towards a vehicle. I know people will question why she isn’t paying her own insurance etc, but I made a deal with all of my kids that as long as they’re in school that I would supply them with a vehicle & cover expenses on it.
