A huge perk of the gig economy is that we work when we want. I still do Postmates because I can turn it on whenever I want. The $4 base per order is atrocious but I love how PM makes it really hard to get past the tip window. $12 for 30-45 mins of my time is better than shopping and delivering for over an hour.
IMO, the schedule is a ploy to keep you dedicated to the platform. They could easily run a PM-like system.
In the past, I've struggled with getting quality sleep. I don't want to feel pressured to work my "shift" with only a few hours of sleep because I'm worried about a reliability incident/deactivation. It's not safe to drive with that little sleep.
Last night I saw hours available for today but didn't want to risk it. Woke well rested and the hours were gone. Although the "go online" feature was green. By the time I got dressed and fueled my car, it went grey! So basically no batches today and a lot of wasted time trying to figure out if I can or cannot work.
