Change a color range

I'm not sure inkscape is the best tool to do this but I don't know where to ask.
I'm doing a topographic map design. The original source of the map shows altitude with an ugly color range (from blue to brown) and I want to change it to let's say from white to dark green. Watching this video I see he uses filters>color>quadritone fantasy and so I did but it seems impossible to choose the exact colors you want.
Is there a way to replace one range of colors with another custom range in inkscape?
