Too much resonators, not enough XMP : A random idea
Post Body

Hi ! I've been playing Ingress in Switzerland for 2 months now, and one of the things I consider a problem I've immediately seen in the first days is still here after two months. And I think generally people would agree that we have too much resonators and always little XMP.

I think the drop rate of both is equal, but the fact that you have to use more than one XMP to destroy a Resonator of the same levelmakes obvious the fact that a lot of people have useless Resonators in their inventories.

I don't want to change the game too deeply (meaning I don't think changing the drop rates and/or XMP power is a good idea), but I think we can reasonably say that Resonators should be a little more useful, especially when stacked. Here's what I thought about :

A single L1 resonator contains in itself 1'000 XM, because when you place it, it's already full and it gives 1'000 XM to a portal. So, instead of dropping hundreds of unused resonators... could we, for example, break them to get a little bit of that XM ? I mean, a level 1 res contains in itself 1k XM. I'm sure it would be possible to break it to get a bit of XM, don't you think ? I don't know, for example, destroy a resonator in our inventory could restore a small amount of XM, like 10 times the res' level.

I think this would give an utility to the thousands of unused resonators in people's inventories that are each day thrown away. What do you think about this idea ?
