Just a simple cottage by the ocean,
Lines of white, and grey, and blue.
Something cloudy that brings a chill to your neck,
But in it hides a secret warmth,
Where our hearts can live,
And smell the salt air.

Will you paint me a picture?
Of a night on the town,
Puddles of light we can walk through,
Dance through,
Laugh through like we used to.
Warm summer air that breathes life,
Even as the sweat glistens on us. In a love drunk stupor.

Will you paint me a picture?
Of the life we were supposed to have,
A mix of colors rushing together,
An unstoppable force,
Daring the universe to try and blur us,
And knowing with grasped hands,
That we can face anything.

Will you paint me a picture?
Of a quiet evening,
Of an open notebook,
And a canvas stretched,
And not a care in the world,
About a couple of paint stains.
