People who feel like they need to "sell" all the reasons to have a kid

Post Body

I went to get my nails done today and at some point during the service the lady asked if I had kids. I say no and just leave it at that. For some reason she decides to go on and on about the joys having kids. After more than a solid minute of her telling me about how wonderful it is I just snapped and said, "I can't have kids". The rest of the appointment was just silent.

Really, though. The first question is fine. It's small talk, whatever. But that whole rant is just inappropriate and I hate that for some reason it's socially acceptable to try to "sell" the idea of having kids. Even if I was child-free by choice a stranger wouldn't convince me to change my mind.

Sorry for rant. I'm just annoyed and hurt.
