Eric's taste in literature

Post Body

Wasn't sure if anyone had talked about this before. One of the things I really liked about Eric's character was the way he could turn a phrase, come up with lines that were, at times, almost poetic. I was re-watching the series from the start, and there are several instances where his taste in literature and culture is hinted at (ie. taking his kids to museums and galleries while his ex-wife took care of the admin), and of course, this scene where he's reading The Razor's Edge, a novel about man's true search for meaning. I thought it was interesting to see these literary influences be incorporated into Eric's view of the world, but also how these passions rub up against the calculated and brutal world of finance. Wondered if anyone else had thoughts on this, or potentially had thoughts on what would be on Eric's retirement reading list?

I thought Eric and his wife were doing that on purpose for Harper’s benefit, basically to make Harper think that what Felim took personally was really just playful banter between the two of them.
