I am not an indigenous person but I wanted to ask a question that I could not find an answer to online. I have recently been accepted to Simon Fraser University with a good scholarhsip but I know that the campuses reside on First Nations land (belonging to xÊ·məθkÊ·É™yÌ“É™m (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish), sÉ™lÌ“ilwÌ“É™taʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh), qÌ“ÃcÌ“É™yÌ“ (Katzie), kÊ·ikʷəƛ̓əm (Kwikwetlem), Qayqayt, Kwantlen, Semiahmoo and Tsawwassen ) . In the beginning I did not give much thought to it but now I feel not sure about it. I know that they make aknowledgements and have scholarships for the indigenous people, but I wanted to ask you how do you feel about institutions like public unis built on your ancestral land and students attending these institutions, especially international students. I hope that my question is not disrespectful.
