I'm pretty new to indie perfumes, and I just recently got a few samples in the Sunday swap. Out of the four, 1 smelled more or less the same on skin and in the bottle, 1 changed somewhat, and 2 changed COMPLETELY. Like I couldn't even believe it was the same perfume. Is it really common for fragrances to change so drastically once applied? If so, how do you go about picking out fragrances? It makes ordering feel like a total crapshoot if everything is going to morph so much. I expected a little change just due to skin chemistry, but I was shocked at how different a couple of them ended up seeming.
