Hi; I'm looking for suggestions on a couple of scent notes--
I've been really enjoying my sample of Sorcellerie's A Party or Something which has marigold as a note. It's not heavy on the floral, it just helps make the cake a lot brighter and light, which is nice. However, it is making me crave that particular scent of fresh-cut marigolds on Dia de Muertos altars-- floral but uniquely musky and maybe a bit humid and green.
Opinions on Scent Trunk's Marigold if you've tried it?
The only note that does not work on me right now is chocolate, so that eliminates a lot of DdM-inspired scents for me. I've never tried a cacao perfume so I don't know if it will be similar experience to chocolate but I've stayed away from them because of it. White chocolate is usually fine.
I'm also interested in sugarcane as a scent note. I noticed it immediately in Alkemia's Bohémiens En Voyage and it is wonderful and so realistic but other parts in that perfume don't work for me. I was surprised to find they've only used it in BEV and nothing else. It's grassy and sweet and totally nostalgic for me-- reminds me of dewy mornings in my grandparent's sugar plantation so it would be nice to find something with it as a more prominent element.
