A very simple question I came here to ask: Should I bother making a fundraising campaign for my visual novel despite it only having placeholder visuals & audio?
I would love to make this VN I have been tinkering on here and there over time an actual thing that gets shipped on Steam, but I'm neither an artist nor a musician (nor can everyone learn these skills like some people try to pretend, I tried and failed miserably.)
I am also not in a position currently to spend a lot of money to commission any art. (30 bucks are the most I could spend for that right now and I know that won't get me anywhere.)
So many times have I read as well as been directly told that it's totally okay to use placeholder stuff at this stage and that it's normal, but I dunno, I guess I'm still feeling skeptical.
PS: If these kinds of posts are not allowed on this subreddit then I'm sorry and I'll remove it upon being told so, frankly I don't know my way around these game-dev places.
