Not sure if it's spreading, but I just received an email notifying me that, as of August 1, Comcast is going to start capping accounts at 1TB - you can pay $50 to have the cap "lifted" or $10 for every 50gb block you go over, up to $200.
I know that a terabyte seems reasonable currently, but given the fact that we're on the brink of 4k video, I can only imagine it causing pain in the future for people who choose to stream instead of purchasing TV packages with Comcast.
If I had literally any other options out here, I'd jump ship immediately. Unfortunately the only thing I've got going outside of Comcast is 20mbps down DSL.
Just a warning. I don't know how far into Indiana this is reaching, but I'm sure they'll roll it out nationwide eventually.
I already filed an FCC complaint, although, technically, this isn't against net neutrality rules. I suggest everyone who may be affected by this do the same. It's the one thing that'll get the FCC moving on this.
