Hello 👋 18M, currently live with my sister in the Speedway/Ben Davis area. Right now I make 19.50 being a fabricator. I have close to a year of welding experience with steel MIG, although I admittedly haven’t done much recently, just practicing with TIG, getting good at cleanup/prep.
Right now rent/bills is around 1100 for both me and my sister, and we cannot stay where we are because after our lease is up the rent goes to nearly 1750 a month just for rent, which neither of us can afford frankly.
While we still haven’t found a new area to move to yet, I wanna prepare and try to find a higher paying/more hour job I can pickup.
Is there anyone who knows about any potential welding shops in this area or even just jobs in general that can pay 20 /have overtime options? I don’t care if they don’t have insurance or anything, right now I just wish to stack cash and know I can support myself and climb out of my 6k debt(medical/car repairs).
I can do heavy lifting, most manual labor, have forklift experience, experience doing standard lawn care, etc. have 4 years in restaurant/customer service (started at 14 working in restaurant, learned all positions FoH/dishwashing), and have no issues doing early or late shifts. Currently work first shift from 6-2:30.
I currently use a thc pen/smoke weed, just for recreational fun, so as of now I can’t pass a 5 panel test, but I don’t necessarily have qualms about quitting if need be.
Any recommended places based on my situation/location? Or just any advice looking forward I can use for job searches/and or life? Appreciate it all!
Thanks much!
