Scarring after ingrown hair?

Waxing gives me ingrown hairs along the inner thigh area, and it's made me SOOOOOO conscious of my legs. I think ten times before wearing a dress and then don't. The scars are mainly a result of mindlessly picking at them and popping them.
I browsed the sub for solutions but the last post on this topic was 2 years ago, and recommended TO 7% Glycolic Acid.
Is there a better product, or is that it? Also, what's the best way to use TO GA for this purpose?
