Is it even worth buying a GPU (even at MSRP or little less) now that the next gen GPUs are around the corner?
Post Body

I get that so many of us have been waiting for GPUs like patients waiting for some rare medicine. But I just read an article that shows how the 4070 is going to be 10% faster than the 3090 and priced roughly at what the 3060 Ti or maybe 3070 is priced at.

Right now, even with the prices of GPU coming down at last, I almost feel pathetic for getting excited for GPUs that are on the verge of being outdated to come down to their launch price. Just read that and it just blows the excitement away.

I feel like even if the prices for the current line of GPUs hit MSRP in the next couple of months, it makes sense to wait till the launch of the 4000 series.

And the Intel GPUs are also coming up and apparently the next gen AMD RDNA3 GPUs are gonna make AMD the preferred GPU. There's just a lot of exciting news about the upcoming GPU tech.

The worst case scenario would be that the 4000 series are scarce and you might have to settle for cheaper prices on the ones you're planning to buy right now.

I am not an expert on the GPU market, so I could be wrong. But just sharing some thoughts I'm having after reading up on the 4000 series. Please share your thoughts!
