Whats your PC gaming audio setup?
Post Body

I'm moving from laptop gaming to having a desktop. For my laptop I have the 3.5" jack with TRRS that uses the inline mic. So I can use it for video conferencing too.

With desktops, there are two issues. One is that the cabinet is placed at quite a distance usually. So you'll need earphones or headphones with long enough cables to go reach, which may not always be the case.

Second issue is that I don't believe PC motherboards come with support for TRRS earphones. So how do you guys have your setup wired so that you can listen to audio and also the mic despite the considerable distance the CPU might be from you?

I know that there are gaming headphones with separate mic input that come with long enough cables that will solve both the issues. But honestly i hate the overhead design and the large earcups that make you sweat after a while and can cause neck pains if they're not super high end lightweight ones. They tend to be bulky and block out ambient noise which cuts you off from the outside world and they are not suitable for summers where you don't wanna be sweating so much.

So I'm looking for a suitable alternative that lets me use my IEMs with mic enabled. Does such a setup exist?

Regardless do share details about your own setup below. I'm curious about how everyone has it setup. Also share product recommendations if you have any.
