Hi, first off apologies. I read this book over 30 years ago. Iām just trying to narrow down tribal affiliations in hopes of finding it.
It was filled with folktales/creation stories but here is what I can remember (Google was not helpful)
One story involved two sisters (that may have been made of corn?) and through the events became the moon and the sun. I may have this backward. I think there were several stories about corn.
There was also a story of an old woman who kept talking birds in her basket and they turned into a beautiful woman.
Also a story about a man married to a river or stream.
I know this isnāt much and for all I know it may not have even been an accurate folklore. But I read it in the late 1980s and it was older then.
The title was ātribe name storiesā but alas itās gone.
Edit: found it
