How to tell if “western west” crosses the line for non-indigenous folks

Post Body

So obviously I am not indigenous and neither is my husband. Both of us are sensitive to crap our fellow non-indigenous folks pull.

That being said, my husband fell in love with some western wear hats and he’s conflicted about it’s appropriateness . He jokes his appropriate gage is broken as he was a living history re-enactor for several years of all sorts of eras.

Anyways - thoughts on a white dude in Ohio wearing this as his casual fall hat?

Also if you know if indigenous hat makers who make similar , I’d love to know about them.
