Even a supposedly democratic country like South Korea, which is placed above India indemocracy indexes, has faced a near martial law situation. How well do you think we as a nation are doing in this regard of avoiding a total martial law like situation post Emergency?

Delhi which is the power center doesn't have huge number of military troops, but they're not that far away either. Also, whenever troops are in Delhi in huge numbers, it's not troops from the same regiment.

You'll have Maratha Regiment, Punjab Regiment, Rajputana Rifles, and maybe Madras Regiment, all together.

Whether you like it or not, the military in India has been totally under civilian control, and they also act as the last resort to protect the Constitution, even from a very popular leader. The only time they have actually failed is under a Congress leader (The Emergency under Indira Gandhi).

(The part about Congress was absolutely necessary because as usual we have brain dead haters of BJP telling everyone would love if BJP did this and BJP did that).
