Post Body
In response to the question
"Is it X or Y?",
the answer "Yes" is not equivalent to "both" even if "or" is taken as inclusive. This should be obvious to anyone, since "or", in any sense is clearly not equivalent to "and"; that is, (X ∨ Y) ≠(X ∧ Y).
The negation of inclusive 'or', on the other hand, is equivalent to negating each term separately—that is, ¬(X ∨ Y) = (¬X ∧ ¬Y)—so a response of "no", in such cases, makes sense. However, the "yes" version is nonsense.
