As the title said, for the next two weeks we'll be participating in an inter-subreddit contest with r/Ancient_History_Memes. I really love their premise, given that I established this community so that enthusiasts of generally specific and exciting events, a subject which hardly receives attention in many subreddits could have somewhere to express their passions through memes.
The theme of this contest is..... the Diadochi! The Diadochi were the generals of Alexander the Great who divided up his empire into various kingdoms after he died in 323 BCE. A whole lotta fighting ensued! The most famous of these kingdoms would have to be Ptolemaic Egypt, who would end up being Egypt's last pharaohs. Here's a trustworthy article about the Diadochi.
In order for your entry to be eligible to win, you'll have to follow a few rules:
- Crosspost your contest entry to both subreddits
- Flair your contest entry appropriately on at least one subreddit (i.e use one of the two contest flairs we have here)
- Follow both subreddits' rules
So what will your reward be if you win? Weeeeeeeell....
A custom flair
One of four mod privilege you can choose from (which you'll keep for a week) on r/ImprovedHistoryMemes. Here are the mod privileges you can choose from:
- Flairs: Manage user flair, link flair and flair templates
- Mail: Read and reply to moderator mail
- Posts: Use the approve, remove, spam, distinguish and nsfw buttons on posts
- Chat Operator: Remove chat messages, lock chat rooms and kick users from chat rooms
- And last but certainly not least, the ability to submit an idea that has the chance to become the premise of the last contest of the month on r/ImprovedHistoryMemes if it wins a vote held in the second-to-last week of the month against other winners' ideas.
Also I want to really point out that r/Ancient_History_Memes is a very good subreddit and holds very few reposts so I advise you check it out if you like anything from the Roman Republic to wars in the Middle East and t he Egyptian Empire.
The contest will begin on May 2nd and end on May 12th.
