Edmond arrived in New Israel with his entourage of advisors. It was, how you say, a shithole. The town was disease ridden and would be starving if not for the generosity of natives. While the generosity of the natives was fortunate, it was not what Edmond needed. Edmond quickly realized that this land would never be a suitable permanent location for any respectable member of the Rothschild family. Honestly, it may never even be hospitable enough for a real community of any kind. The sooner Edmond made this colony self-sustaining, the sooner he could go back to the luxury of Paris.
With this great motivation Edmond set out full to the task. Each skilled laborer set out to their task. In the interest of speeding along the process of making the colony sustainable Edmond assigns most of the unskilled labor to assisting in the preparation of the land for agriculture.
In addition, Edmond decided the colony needed a financial purpose to become self-sustainable. Some resources simply could not be acquired in this god forsaken place. In order to fund this colony trade was necessary. Hopefully, this should be made easier by the friendliness of the neighbors. Edmond sends out a delegation to meet with the natives to find what valuable goods they could buy and inquire what goods the natives would want in exchange. Once that information is acquired 15 of the ships will return to France to report back to James.
1 of the ships will make south for the French colony south of New Israel to establish relations for trade and supply. A ship will also be dispatched north west for Portuguese Sao Tome and the last north east for Spanish Guinea. Hopefully the European colonies will take kindly to New Israel.
