Battle Mats for competitive skirmish?

As much as I love this game, setting up the tiles for skirmish competitions seems like it will add significant time to matches. Do you think mats for the skirmish maps might be a cool thing to make/get? Would FFG allow them? Considering there are only currently 3 skirmish maps available, I feel like it would be a lot more convenient to bring a couple mats to a tournament than all the tiles. Thoughts?
