Hey everyone,
I have a bit of a dilemma and I could really use your expertise. I work for a company that specializes in packaging machines and palletizers, dealing with a lot of PLCs and robotics. My role primarily revolves around programming, troubleshooting PLCs, robots, and various automation systems.
My company is OK to classify me under the NOC code for electrical engineer 21310, as many of the job duties align with that classification. However, despite my responsibilities matching those of an engineer, my company doesn't actually have any engineers on staff. We're a team of 35 employees, but none of us carry the title of engineer.
My main concern is whether there might be any issues if I were to take on the NOC of an engineer, especially considering the discrepancy between the job title and the actual staff makeup. I'm particularly interested in applying for the STEM draw, and I want to make sure I'm on solid ground in terms of classification.
Additionally, I've already created a profile on the Express Entry portal with a different NOC code. Would changing my NOC code at this stage cause any complications or problems with my application?
I'd greatly appreciate any insights or advice you might have . Does anyone have expertise in NOC classifications or immigration matters?
Thanks in advance for your help!
