Iloilo, not just the city alone is gaamat-amat na gid turn into the “perfect” city. It’s not just around the city nga makakita ka countless coffee shops and working spaces, but also within municipalities. BPO companies are slowly reaching far-flung municipalities (which is a good thing to help unemployment, ig).
In the city, everywhere you turn, you see a coffee shop, you see a hotel, malls, condos, restaurants, Korean-inspired facilities, and expensive cars.
As more and more people from Metro Manila and even from other countries choose Iloilo as their “settling ground,” do you think it is for good?
And with a growing number of companies investing in Iloilo, and as more conglomerates feast over Ilonggos through their urban lifestyle and approach, would the natural Ilonggo culture die out soon? Or will it be just more enriched due to fusions of other cultures?
Are these establishments, all these new people, all these opportunities worth the exchange of our dear Iloilo?
I guess whatever our take on this, one thing is for sure; it is already unstoppable and is already inevitable since the beginning. Iloilo is bound to this fate, as the heart of the Philippines.
