Note: this may work at stores other than CVS, but I have only ever tested it there.
If you are at a CVS with a self checkout machine, you don’t actually need to pay for them. Once the items have been scanned, they will no longer trigger the shoplifting detection machines near the door. Just scan the items you want, and leave.
