ILPT Request: If my laptop was badly damaged, can Asurion see when it was last backed up?

I’ve been paying a lot of money to Asurion / Verizon for Total Device Protection / Extended Warranty Coverage for almost 2 years now.
I am curious, if there was an accident and my laptop was badly damaged or destroyed, could or would Asurion find a recent backup suspicious and try to deny my claim?
Cuz you know, accidents happen all the time.
