[META] Awards prejudices?

Do you find yourself judging a film more harshly when you know it's been nominated for an Oscar, is the most likely front runner at Cannes etc?

How does one overcome this sort of prejudice and remain impartial? Is that even possible?

I will admit it's a problem for me. I disliked several of the oscar nominees/winners, but in hindsight I feel as though I may have judged them too harshly purely because they were oscar nominated.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on this.
