Is the new Skerei skin better than the old one?

I haven't been able to find any discussion on this since it was released. My guess is that the dino skin has better stats for PvE, but the CNY skin is worth it in PvP. Any thoughts?
Also unpopular opinion: old skin or no skin is better looking than new skin :)
