I mean you could (and in fact I've seen people do it) make a case for it on account of Israel being more liberal than Hamas and therefore the morally superior choice. People have made the social policy based argument for Ukraine after all. Personally I'm team smoldering crater so I have no horse in this race, but it's odd that belief systems should have to be a monolith.
