All scholarly papers should be free and open access. (The process of finding different sources, logging in via institution every single time, and still not 100% chance of getting access is really tedious...)

The money you pay for research papers doesn't go to the people conducting or even funding the research. At best it goes to the people reviewing the papers and considering Nature (just for one example) threw a F I T over 500 dollars a paper that's completely pathetic as well. It's just pure grift.
