Ever since October 2021, I've felt completely lost on this game's lore. I understand the whole Novelist/Nightmare/Detective situation. Hell, I kind of understand Weeping Clown and Smiley Face.

But is that the case for all of the hunters? Really? Hastur is a literal god, as established through the existence of the Lakeside Trails. Jack was already a serial killer before the manor. How does Wu Chang fit into all this?

Was every hunter/survivor subjected to the chemicals, and will there eventually be a 1-for-1 hunter and survivor with counterparts? Is everyone supported by their counterparts?

Are any of the hunters "real"? Or are they all illusions? Is this all some big...I don't know.

I'm so lost. Could someone help? Or am I at least not alone in all of this-
