How do you guys feel about smurf accounts?

I just had a match and afterwards they told me they were using alt accounts and that they were actually really highly ranked (they weren't being mean, just to clarify). Now I didn't lose, I tied, but man was I struggling, so after finding out they were using smurf accounts I felt a little annoyed. Personally I'd rather play against people my own rank, or close enough to it, so I can improve instead of feeling like total garbage when I lose.
Do y'all have any opinions on smurf accounts?
