I saw a video where someone plays as violinist (gameplay from hunter perspective starts at 12:14) against actual players, and seeing the gameplay I drew some conclusions.
P.S: You don’t need to watch the video or read all these if you don’t want to. You can just say what you think about him so far and I think most people would like to read it :)
Abilities
The first ability is almost balanced but I think it could be a bit better. Maybe make the cooldown about 1 or 2 seconds shorter or make the first floating note last a few more seconds.
Second ability is analogous to Violetta’s throwing web but it doesn’t do damage and is hard to aim properly. However it stacks and is hard to take off, so I think that one is pretty balanced.
Final ability is good, I think the fact that survivors can calculate to land in a gap of the strings is a good balance to the ability. I don’t think this one needs much tweaking.
First impressions
The hunter is slow, probably one of the slowest hunters. It’s very hard to aim with and it’s definitely going to be a hard hunter to main because of how much precision his abilities require (which I think is kind of poetic. Musicians require to be precise when playing instruments, so I think it’s a cute justification).
If properly developed and familiarised with, I think it can be a good hunter to play as and a hard hunter to play against. However there is no way to know for certain until it is officially out.
Debuff, left alone or buff?
Personally, I don’t think a debuff is needed for the hunter. His note abilities are hard to master and his physical stats (as aforementioned) are weak. A slight (emphasis in the word slight) buff may be needed but we’ll have to experience it ourselves.
Personal thoughts on him
As a musician myself (roughly) I like this hunter. His abilities need to be precise as is playing any instrument. His looks are great and the fact that he’s probably based in Paganini is a great reference.
I’m definitely excited to get him and would like to learn to master him someday. I want to see him evolve, let’s hope it happens!
